Just found these interesting pics of Masonic/Shriner symbols over at the Rigorous Intuition message boards.
Observant readers will not that not only is the symbol of the New Orleans Police Dept identical to that of the Shriners (a Masonic offshoot) but that both are in fact the Islamic Star and Crescent.

What is your take on purported links between the Ottoman Empire and early Nazi philosophy?

HI James.
I think there is little doubt that the leading Nazis were essentially attempting some form of ‘occult realignment’ of reality and as such were interested in all sorts of esoteric teachings.
The search for the Grail in Czechoslovakia and the Shambala quest/Tibetan missions for example are well known - as is the Dalai Lama’s audiences with leading Nazis such as Miguel Serrano who was a leading figure in the movement of Esoteric Hitlerism which was created by Himmler.
Himmler’s esoteric stance grew out of the Vril Society and his association with Haushofer - Haushofer was a member of a Masonic lodge and was also a pupil of Gurdjieff who attempted to follow his teaching. I believe other Nazis also had interest in the Gurdjieff work - although this is not to imply G was in any way a Nazi, right-wing or in sympathy with any of their views.
Clearly, given the fact that racist extremists could have esoteric or religious interests then it is no surprise that some of those with ‘religious’ interests may have (or come to have) racist agendas. All the more so if they feel some form of sympathy with the esoteric aspects of the extremists.
Imo, totalitarian power (or the desire to achieve it), racist ideologies (even non-overt ones such as ‘X are barbarians and we re civilized’) and Occultism/esotericism are never far apart and may even be assumed to be constant bedfellows. Superstition and fear are the basis of many things which seem quite separate.
There is another aspect to this esoteric/extremist convergence - though one I do not think is at work with the Ottoman/Nazi links which are most likely genuine (although there were doubtless other ‘interested parties’ with their spoon in the pot stirring things about a little) - and that is a kind of disinformation.
I often suspect that many apparently Islamic organizations and Muslim leaders may be sources of disinfo - consciously or otherwise. Some are clearly genuine extremists but some obviously know nothing of the Qur’an or Islam and that gives one pause for thought. It’s not that they know it and redefine it - they genuinely know nothing of their subject. Many al-Qaeda or other terrorist messages fall into this category. Muhammad Atta’s Last Will is another classic example.
Another current classic would be David Myatt. This guy is the founder of Combat 18 the hardcore Nazi organization and also a Neo-Nazi with a long history of violence.
Well, apparently he has converted to Islam. He has subsequently started an organization which promotes ‘Heathenism’ and seems to be allied (if not the leader of) a certain Satanist order. Not exactly Islamic activities imo. Oh....and he also has links to the British Intelligence and Security Services.
There is a thread on this at Rigorous Intuition.

The masons are like BoyScout rejects, they each get assigned little duties, someone gets to watch the door to their little fort to make no one gets in to see them parade around in f’d up costumes while they walk around in circles repeating the brainwashing that is being fed into their demented heads. It is no different than a cult. Sure they make it look like they are some honorable foundation because they will do a blood drive or donate something here and their, what a nice facade they have going. Hmmm any person who was stable in the head would have walked out during the initiation when they blindfold you, put a noose on you (oh this is to symbolize Re-birth...uh huh) make you open your shirt to expose your chest, pull your pant leg up and then let some creepy old man poke you in the chest with a point object. Im sorry, but I would not want to associate myself with a bunch of freaks like that! Who in their right mind would? The kicker of this all, is that you have to PAY to belong to these rejects.
They practice in temples with an alter were the go before the presence of the Supreme Being and offiers himself to the service of the Grand Architect of the Universe HUH?????They’ve got their secret little handshakes shhh only the members are to know this. They have 33 levels of masonry-you work your way up to this and depending on how “dedicated” you are and learn their freaky little lines that they have you memorize. They assign the members little duties to do, someone is in charge of the music (probably chock full of subliminal messages), someone is in charge of guarding the door to make sure no one gets in that is not supposed to, they have wardens and grand masters. They have symbols like 5 pointed star. The only way to get out of being a mason are, you get suspended or you die. You cannot leave voluntarily. SO what happens if you dont want to belong anymore? They kill you? probably.
oh they also wear garments of humility- right now, it is a little white smock, if you make it to Grand Master you get a retarded little hat.
What a group of pathetic men

Freemasonry
As regular readers of this blog will no doubt be all too painfully aware, I refuse to yield to anyone in my utter detestation of the literary (?) output of Dan Brown and all the demonic hybrids it has spawned but, to my unending horror, it seems impossible to avoid references to the said monstrosity. In all fields and all areas.
