Blanket

Mulla Nasrudin and his wife woke one night to hear two men fighting under their window. Nasrudin’s wife sent the Mulla out to see what the trouble was. He wrapped his blanket round his shoulders and went downstairs. As soon as he got close to the men, one of them grabbed the blanket off him and both men ran off.

“What was the fighting about, dear?” the Mulla’s wife asked as he came back into the bedroom.

“About my blanket apparently...... as soon as they got it they went away.”

Have you heard of the Nasruddin story featuring a donkey and his son ? It’s one of my favourites.

It’s the one that says that you can’t satisfy everyone. Nasruddin goes to the market with his little son and a donkey. He’s riding the donkey. So people yell at him “shame on you you let your poor son walk !”. So the next day he walks and his son rides the donkey. People then yell at him “how can we teach respect to our sons if your son is like a king and you like his servant”. So the third day the son walks, and so does Nasruddin. And he carries the donkey on his back. This way people really think he’s crazy. smile
