Islamophobic
I have a theory about Islamophobia, extremism and Bush/Blair/Islamists/totalitarianism etc and I thought I’d rant on about it for a bit as I’m bored. I’m especially bored with Islamophobes and non-thinkers who - I fervently hope, will not , like the poor, be always with us. Basically it is this: all these things are symptoms of the same underlying ailment - retrogressive stupidity.
This is my theory: Life is evolving. That is to say, history is the history of advancement and evolution - we start off in caves we progress to huts, to houses, to space....and on. Progress is all. It is irresistable and where we are headed in all areas; technological, philosophical, religious etc.....
As we evolve, we outgrow certain things. They get abandoned and left behind for better things....when these things are not (say) technological but philosophical or religious then there will be great opposition to this progress by those who define themselves by the beliefs that are being transcended.
Imo - this is what is happening today.
Religious extremists, literalists, racists, moralists and other people incapable of logical structured reasoning inherently sense that their doom is imminent - they KNOW they are about to die out and their beliefs/moral and political positions are about to be consigned to the dustbin of history and humanity is moving on to a more structures and harmonious (and spiritual) level of being.
So what do they do? They get more extreme and fight for their lives.
The Islamists do it one way.
Bush and Blair do it another.
Christian Fundies do it yet another way.
And non-thinkers everywhere buy into all this as ‘Gospel Truth’.
But they are all different leaves of the same tree. a tree that is withering and dying and that should be uprooted and ceremonially burned as quickly as possible for the good of all.
What scared illogical people see as the ‘Muslim Threat’. What Bush sees as ‘Freedom and Democracy’ and what extremists Islamists see as ‘a just cause’ are merely just the demented ravings of soon to be extinct dinosaurs thrashing vainly to re-affirm life in the face of imminent extinction.
Of course there is real Islam and real Christianity just as there is real Freedom and real Democracy and even - possibly - real thinkers, but we will never know these until the last of these pathetic lumbering behemoths shuffles futilely off the stage they have so obscenely desecrated and degraded for so long....
I for one won’t miss any of them - not a single one......
