Anulios Small Press
We are in the process of starting a small Press and publishing entity here in Barcelona which will focus on the following three areas (in no particular order of precedence):
Local Literature and Art
We aim to develop and promote local literary endeavours by publishing the works of Barcelona writers, poets and artists, most likely in an occasional magazine/broadsheet which we will have a strong counter-cultural agenda but also through the medium of story-tellings and poetry readings.
Limited Edition Letterpress Publications
We propose to create original designs and illustrations for several non-original works which will be letterpress printed in very short print runs using the highest quality papers, inks and bindings.
At present we are working on an illustrated compendium of several traditional Middle Eastern tales and plan an illustrated version of The Tale of Mushkil Gusha.
Research Papers
We have a particular interest in promoting a greater cross-cultural understanding between the West and Middle Eastern cultures and to that end are continually conducting practical and academic research in the areas of religion, mysticism, philosophy and general history.
This research can sometimes take the form of extended expeditions and travels to specific areas and we aim, if possible, to publish this research in the form of books detailing these journeys. For example we envisage a publication on Iran which will focus on specific aspects of Safavid architecture, one on Syria which will focus on Islamo-Christian relations, one on Morocco which is concerned with women's conception of folk music and its role in Magical paradigms etc.
The specific and detailed research will be made available to serious students but the publications themselves are envisaged as being extended photo-essays and descriptions of the research-gathering expeditions rather than a presentation of the research itself.

Any serious person feeling inspired by any of the above and believing they may have something to contribute to our agenda (in addition to understanding it) is invited to write care of the email given on this site and stating why they are doing so.
